Niam acquires newly developed logistics facility in Stockholm

Niam has entered into an agreement with Logistic Contractor, part of the Wästbygg Group, for the acquisition of a logistics facility under construction in Farsta, south of central Stockholm. Niam will take over the turnkey property in connection with its completion during the first quarter of 2022.

After completion, the building will have an area of 45,000 sqm including garage. It is fully leased to MatHem, which with the new production, will have a modern and sustainable production and logistics facility, well adapted to the growth phase of the company. The new facility will be certified according to Miljöbyggnad, where the goal is to reach the gold level, and it will be powered by a larger solar cell installation.

Daniel Andersson, Head of Acquisitions Sweden, Niam, says, “With a high technical standard and an attractive geographical location, this property is a good addition to our logistics portfolio. Logistic Contractor will develop a sustainable and modern logistics facility, which suits our future tenant MatHem optimally.”

Benn Karlberg, CEO of Logistic Contractor AB, says, “We have had a positive dialogue with Niam and look forward to continued good cooperation during the remaining year of the production period. The interest from various players in the logistics market has been great, as during previous property sales. The MatHem property is the fifth in-house developed facility that we are selling this year and we have thus sold properties worth almost SEK 1.9 billion in 2020.”
